On April 30, 1940, Eleanor Roosevelt, who was honorary President of the Girl Scouts National Little House in Washington, DC, attended a luncheon in her honor to highlight Girl Scout participation in the observance of National Better Homes Week. Scouts cooked and served the luncheon.
