Neshaminy State Park provides beautiful boating access to the Delaware River and contains the only estuary in the state. The picnic areas and swimming pool are the most popular park attractions. Just minutes from center city Philadelphia, this park has a clean, open, relaxing appearance. The park takes its name from Neshaminy Creek, which joins the Delaware at this point.
Unlimited horsepower motorboats are permitted in the river. Privately-owned boats may be launched on the river at the two boat access areas. Approximately 235 marina slips for boats are rented seasonally. Demand for these spaces is always high and waiting lists are maintained. Slips are available for people with disabilities. Contact the park office for specific information concerning marina dock rental and transient slips.
A variety of warm-water fish species can be found in this stretch of the Delaware River. A Pennsylvania fishing license is required to fish from the shore.
The main swimming pool, diving pool, and children's wading pool are open from the Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day. Regular hours for weekends and holidays are 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. weekdays, unless otherwise posted. Lifeguards are on duty when the pools are open.
Neshaminy State Park offers four miles of hiking trails. The Logan Walk is the original drive to the former Robert Logan Home, which has been removed. The tree-lined walk is used by visitors for numerous recreational activities and serves as a park service road. The walk is paved and A.D.A. accessible. The River Walk Trail's trailheads are located on Logan Walk. The River Walk Trail follows the shoreline and gives views of the river with its ship traffic, and also explores the tidal marsh. The River Trail Inner Loop Trail explores the interior of the park and is a great way to discover animals and endangered plants.
